Frontier Fescue

Frontier Fescue is our personal favorite for your average homes yard. It’s a cold weather grass that’s also heat resistant (they grow it in Vegas!). It does fantastic with high traffic and dogs because it stays green year round and doesn’t get beat out while it’s dormant like Bermuda will. It’s also great for both sunny and shady areas. Fescue can be installed year round and our favorite timeframe for installation is Fall through Spring, although it does great when installed in the summer as well. It doesn’t spread like Bermuda, however, but you won’t have to worry about this grass taking over in your flower beds and other areas it’s unwanted. To keep your yard nice and full and to help keep weeds out etc, we recommend seeding your established lawn with Frontier Fescue seed which we can provide every September.
